Sony's ABP™ Active Black Panel

Disappearing Act.
With the Sony CDX-M600 Active Black Panel (ABP), there's no need to remove the faceplate. Turn the system off and the front panel looks as if you've already removed it - a featureless expanse of flat black plastic!

Show Time.
Turn the receiver on with either remote and it comes to life in a riotous, 4-color dot matrix display.  It's big, colorful and tells you everything that's going on.

Open Up And Say "Ahhh."
Hit the open key and the display pivots down to reveal the CD loading slot, plus a full set of front panel controls.

Kicker Solo-Baric™ Square Subwoofers

Why Square? Simple geometry... The area of a square is greater than the area of a circle the same width. Because the Solo-Baric is square, you get the most possible cone area for a given size baffle - 16% to 20% more cone area. This means Solo-Baric square woofers move more air, so a 10 inch square Solo-Baric subwoofer gives you the same output you would get from a 12 inch round subwoofer.

Introducing the Alpine DVD PowerNav System.

One Small Step for DVD... One Giant Leap for Navigation!

Using the unprecedented speed, power & storage capacity of DVD technology, Alpine has created the fastest and most precise navigation system ever. PowerNav is an advanced, in-vehicle Global Positioning Satellite (GPS)-linked computer. It receives input from three sources: the GPS data directly from the satellites, the data from the electronic gyroscope mounted in the computer's chassis and lastly, the speed pulse data from your vehicle. The PowerNav System then processes this information and matches it to the map data on the DVD-ROM software to pinpoint your precise location. At this point, the CD Audio Technology embedded in the DVD disc delivers turn-by-turn instructions in a clear, natural-sounding voice. Perhaps most importantly, the immense data capacity of the DVD format leaves plenty of room for future OS software enhancements and updated mapping information.
